Our Answers
What is Dekton?
Dekton is an ultra-compact surface material crafted from a blend of raw materials used in the production of glass, porcelain, and quartz. It is renowned for its exceptional resistance to scratches, stains, and impact, making it an ideal choice for kitchen and bathroom countertops, as well as other high-traffic surfaces.
Is Dekton heat resistant?
Yes, Dekton is heat resistant and can withstand temperatures up to 400°C without damage. It is designed to endure hot items such as saucepans, frying pans, coffee makers, and other heat-producing equipment.
However, for prolonged exposure, especially on thinner surfaces like 4mm and 8mm Dekton, we recommend using protective mats or trivets. Keep countertops away from direct contact with metal parts of electric grills, hobs, and ovens, and avoid exposing Dekton to intense heat from sources like fireplaces or barbecues. Also, avoid direct contact with open flames.
Is Dekton durable?
Yes, Dekton is highly durable and resistant to scratches, stains, and impact, making it a long-lasting surface material for various applications.
Does Dekton require special care?
No, Dekton requires no special maintenance. Simply clean it with warm water and mild detergent to keep it looking pristine.
Can Dekton be used outdoors?
Yes! Dekton is suitable for outdoor use as it is resistant to UV rays, temperature fluctuations, and various weather conditions. It performs exceptionally well in outdoor kitchens, barbecue areas, and as cladding for facades and patios.
Is Dekton eco-friendly?
Yes, Dekton is an environmentally friendly material made from natural raw materials and does not release harmful chemicals, contributing to a sustainable and eco-conscious lifestyle.
How does Dekton compare to Quartz?
Dekton is an ultra-compact material made from a blend of raw materials used in the production of glass, porcelain, and quartz. Quartz, on the other hand, is an engineered stone made from natural quartz combined with resins. Each material has unique properties, with Dekton offering superior resistance to heat and UV rays.
